Visit With Us

We are always glad to have guests at Community, and we understand that visiting a church for the very first time can be a nervous experience. Where to go? What to wear? What time to show up? What’s available for my kids? At Community Free Will Baptist Church we want to put your mind at ease and make your first visit refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your entire family. We want you and your family to feel right “at home” as you experience refreshing music, relevant Bible teaching, and a family atmosphere.

Finding Our Church
Whether you live in West Jefferson, Galloway, London, Georgesville, Amity, Summerford or the surrounding areas our church is easy to find. We are located on 130 Plain City Georgesville Rd (South of US Route 40 on the right). Once you arrive, there will be parking available close to our worship facility. Make your way to the front of the church or the side entrances  where our greeters will help direct you to the appropriate place.

Knowing Where to Go
Once you arrive we will have greeters ready to show you where to go. They will even be available to escort you to the appropriate nursery, class, and service.
What’s Available for my Children?
At every service there are safe and clean nurseries for your children. All services are led my a church member and children are never left unsupervised. During the Bible study there are classes designed especially for your child’s age group. A children’s service is also available during the morning worship service.
What’s the morning schedule?
Generally snack items and refreshments are available prior to Sunday Bible Study classes at 10:00am.  Classes for all age groups begin at 10:00am and usually dismiss at 10:40am. These classes are smaller groups that meet in specific age brackets. This provides practical teaching, encouragement, and fellowship with others your age. Our morning worship service begins at 10:45am. This service is filled with inspirational music, Hymnal Music, choir and special singing, followed by a clear, practical, Bible message from Pastor Jerry Newman. This service is typically almost an hour in length.
How should I dress?
There is not a dress code at Community Free Will Baptist Church for members or guests. Our church leadership and many of our church families dress in a more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit with us. Whatever you choose to wear, you will not feel uncomfortable.
What about other opportunities to attend?
We dismissed our Sunday evening service (completely different from the Sunday morning service) that begins at 6:00pm every Sunday. In this service you will, again, be able to hear the choir and other special music as well as a practical and helpful message from Pastor Jerry Newman. We also meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm for Bible study and prayer. Immediately following services, we fellowship over a pot luck style dinner. Everyone is welcome to attend any of our regular services!
Am I expected to participate in the offering?
No. We don’t invite you to Community Free Will Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope that you will find our church to be a warm family atmosphere, help from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.
If there’s something we missed please call us or feel free to ask when you arrive. We want your first visit to Community to be a tremendous experience. It is our desire to serve you and your family. Please let us know how we can better help you. We look forward to seeing you this Sunday!
